My Digital Footprint

John Seely Brown

The web has just begun to have an impact on our lives. As fascinated as we are with it today, we’re still seeing it in its early forms… My belief is that not only will the web be as fundamental to society as electrification but that it will be subject to many of the same diffusion and absorption dynamics as that earlier medium.

Kathy Schrock's Blooming Apps
This resource from Kathy has recommendations for iOS and Android devices and specifically aligns apps to the Revised Blooms Taxonomy - Remembering, Understanding, Applying, Analysing, Evaluating, Creating. See the Educational Origami wiki of Andrew Churches as an excellent resource on use and background to Blooms Taxonomy.

AppAdvice - Education
Sometimes it's more economical to make some payment for an app to avoid advertising and in-app purchasing prompts.  AppAdvice separates them into paid and free.  This site provides a comprehensive range of options to keep up to date with the latests.  Use your Google Reader to save time and have the news come to you via RSS feeds.

AppShopper
Install Appshopper on your iPad to keep track of new apps, specials and updates.  This is the place to find those apps that have price reduction or go 'free' for a limited time.

iPad Apps for Autism
The apps on this link have been selected by the authors of this site (a parent, an adult with autism, and a Special Language Program educator) as being especially suitable for issues relating to autism such as: advocacy, learning, literacy and fun.  Most could also be applied to all ipad users.
