My Hero Project Global Exchange
This Project is a not-for-profit organization with the mission to enlighten and inspire people of all ages with an ever-growing internet archive of hero stories from around the world. BBC World Class
The BBC initiates links between a number of international partner organisations and schools to develop collaborative projects. They call it twinning with projects covering all year levels on a broad range of topics. Good resources and support with sample projects. UK based. |
Thinkquest
Lead by Bernie Trilling, the Oracle Education Foundation (OEF) provides ThinkQuest as a free service to K-12 schools globally. It's a protected, online learning platform that enables teachers to integrate learning projects into their classroom curriculum and students to develop critical 21st century skills. Students enter the annual Thinkquest competition and access the Thinkquest library for inspiration. EPals
ePals is a Global Community of collaborative learners, teachers, and academic experts in 200 countries and territories. It's been around for some time and is evolving with Web 2.0 functionality to include blogs and other interactive options. Particularly popular with language students but suitable for all. |

UNICEF- Voices of Youth
Via the discussion boards called the 'Meeting Place' young people to talk to one another, over the Internet, in three different languages (English, French and Spanish) about child rights and development related issues. Also included are quizzes, games and photo journals. |
Land Yachts
A simple project and Australian from Oz-teachernet, where students collaboratively build small wheeled vehicles from recycled materials. These are powered by an electric fan and are measured by how far they travel and the time it takes. The students - from all over the world -use the safe online spaces to record their own design processes and to support the work of others through blog comments. |
CultureQuest
CultureQuest involves students and teachers engaged in inquiry-based classroom projects that explore other peoples and cultures.
